I’ve often found metta, loving kindness mediation, difficult because it feels stilted.  I have recognized that it has opened my awareness to the places that I find constriction and judgment … and then I work with those places.  I feel where the tightness resides in myself and offer compassion for that.  And then maybe add on compassion for myself and the ones I struggle with.

I am grateful for this instruction in walking meditation and metta focus combined.  I think it is another avenue for me to deal with the difficulty of feeling stilted, inauthentic in the practice.
