I have loved hearing that phrase in previous guided meditations from Sharon. At the end of the session, Sharon says, “And when you’re ready, open your eyes…” I never really feel like opening my eyes, but this year I hope I’m ready.
This year I am hoping to make sitting a more regular, steady part of my daily habit, reclaiming some time back from screens and pressure.
It was reassuring to return to the breath. While Sharon introduced the session I found myself stretching — things are creakier and stiffer than they used to be — and remembering previous attempts to hold off distraction. It was a comfort to start into the breath, though new worries crept in to keep me company this time. It’s just one breath, indeed, and the whole world is in that breath.
