Practicing with compassion is something I have intended to focus on during meditation and in general. I sometimes feel I don’t quite grasp compassion. I don’t always feel I know what it means to be compassionate for others. But it is an integral part of lovingkindness. It’s the feeling and emotion that comes with love and genuinely caring for someone.
To focus on compassion helps to see where these feelings, good or bad may be coming from. It shines a light on difficult emotions without getting caught up in them and being carried away by something like anger or frustration. Instead of getting angry and giving up on someone, you can understand the problems they are having and possibly help them. Or at least just be there for them and support.
