Bringing mindfulness into daily routines and activities disallow any preoccupation with the future or the past. It feels natural. My body holds less tension. Things feel more balanced. I noticed that when I eat and drink mindfully I consume less and every thing is tastier. But also my taste buds have the opportunity to fully enjoy all the flavors present. These exercises also helped me see how I tend to take small consecutive sips of any beverage, like a small bird. And when I eat I tend to chew fast and swallow. But never fully swallowing before taking my next bite. This brought to light how I intellectually process information. Somewhat in hurry and always cramming.
