Eating Meditation

I haven’t blogged for a while.  I’ve been practicing every day but after each session I don’t feel like writing my thoughts; I feel like I don’t have anything insightful to add.  Today, however, I took the opportunity to practice the eating meditation during my daily snack time.  I am much more into my breakfast, lunch, or dinner and so I pay attention at those times.  For snack time, however, I just shove the same thing in my mouth each day (cheese, peanut butter, and a piece of dark chocolate) and do so while I’m working.  I never notice the texture or smell of the food, the flavor, the curves and dips of the peanut butter, etc.  Today, was awesome! My cheese smelled lovely, a mild cheddar full of rich molecules that permeated my mouth and the back of my nasal cavity.  The peanut butter was creamy and smooth.  I salivated more which made the peanut butter go down well.  My precious piece of chocolate tasted tangy with a hint of sweetness.  It was a much more enjoyable experience and snack time was fulfilling for the first time in months.

May all beings be happy ♡
