DETAILS & REGISTER HERESharon is offering a daylong intensive in Madison, Wisconsin in honor of friend and colleague, Cheri Maples. In our shared grief at Cheri’s departure, there is no better refuge than sangha, our community of spiritual friends, and dharma practice, through which we open ourselves to the truth of things, including impermanence and death. Sharon will lead us in a day of mindful dharma practice and teachings to honor and express our love for Cheri, and to provide a loving container for our shared grief and gratitude.
Our dear friend Cheri Maples died on July 27th from a systemic infection. On the day before she died, Cheri had a long conversation with her friend, Eileen Harrington, during which she said she did not fear dying and was ready to let go when the time came. “I have had a very good life,” Cheri said. That evening, Cheri suddenly became gravely ill, and less than twenty-four hours after this conversation, Cheri passed, peacefully.
