In contemporary culture, we often struggle with faith and may wonder if it is a necessary element for spiritual development. Please join Sharon Salzberg and Elizabeth Mattis-Namgyel as we look deeply at how we may have experienced faith threaded with the disempowerment that comes from handing over agency to an authority figure, or associate it with dogma, fundamentalism, and being silenced.
In this weekend program, we will explore a different sense of faith. We will discuss how it can connect us to a deeper place of strength within us and to a bigger picture of life. This type of faith increases confidence, openness, and our ability to recognize something outside of our immediate circumstances as describing who we are.
Sharon and Elizabeth would like to invite you to join them in an exploration of this lively and provocative topic which takes us right to the heart of the human condition. Each has written books dedicated to exploring faith because of how important it is to more deeply understand it. This topic will be offered as a Friday evening program as well as in a full Daylong practice on Saturday and will include discourses, discussion, and guided meditations. It is suitable for both new and experienced meditators. Please join us for one session or both as these two days can stand alone as complete experiences or build on each other for a rich weekend of practice and discussion. Join us as we unpack faith and its role in contemporary life and spirituality.
