Join Sharon Salzberg for an in-depth series exploring the Four Noble Truths at New York Insight during the month of March, 2017. The Four Noble Truths are the cornerstone of awakening in the Buddhist tradition. In this four-week course, Sharon will explore these ancient teachings for their practical application in modern life. Drawing from classical Buddhist teachings, the course is comprised of four evenings in which we will explore each of the noble truths:
March 1, 2017, 7-9pm Dukkha: the recognition of suffering
March 8, 2017, 7-9pm Samudaya: the undoing of the cause of suffering
March 15, 2017, 7-9pm Niroda: the possibility of the end of suffering
March 22, 2017, 7-9pm Magga: the means to walking the path to the end of suffering.
Each week of the course features an in-depth discourse, guided meditations, and question/answer periods. It is recommended that this course be taken as a series; however, students can also attend each separate sessions individually. Please note: beginning meditation instruction will not be offered in this course. Payment plans and limited partial scholarships are available; please contact Molicia Crichton at firstname.lastname@example.org for financial assistance.
