Join Sharon, meditation teacher for nearly 50 years who’s played a pivotal role in bringing meditation practice to the West – and us at triyoga – to experience the transformative power of meditation. This workshop is for anyone open to learning three key skills – concentration, mindfulness and compassion – through technique, discussion and Q+A.
Beginning with a talk introducing these skills, you’ll be guided through a breath-centred meditation session to welcome the teachings into your own bodymind. With a focus on lovingkindness – attention to our thoughts, feelings and actions – the workshop will explore:
• concentration – steadying and focusing our attention, letting go of distractions
• mindfulness – refining our attention, connecting directly with the present moment
• compassion – using loving kindness to open our attention and include all our experiences
Sharon will host a discussion and Q+A session after the practice – benefit from her vast experience, gain insight on the practical application of the teachings and how to take them into your own life. We’ll finish with a lovingkindness meditation, connecting us as the triyoga practice community (sangha) and inspiring us to continue to explore what we’ve learnt.
