Meditating on the Breath:
I place the breath forefront in my awareness; I feel it first, and I give myself permission to just breathe. I experience an inherent forgiveness in letting everything else go but the breath. There is a sense of being deserving and enough; feeling one breath — this, I can do.
The breath is calling me home.
Awareness of Sounds:
Sounds are outside of my control. Like the breath, sounds only happen now. And, they are always moving.
Counting the Breath:
Counting provides guardrails for my breathing meditation. And, with my inner eye turned to the breath, the breath feels safe, too; the breath is seen, held and honored.
I feel the breath. Along with all my other identities, I am this, too.
