METTA HOUR PODCAST • Episode 58 • Real Love Series • Congressman Tim Ryan Pt. 1

For episode eight of the Real Love Podcast Series, Sharon talks with Congressman Tim Ryan about love in the political landscape. Tim currently serves in the U.S. Congress representing Ohio’s 13th District. He was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2002. So grateful to have discovered you & your podcast, Sharon. Funny thing … I first learned about mindfulness meditation practice while attending Mount Holyoke College as an undergrad in 2013-2014, just a few miles from Barre. I took a course on Buddhism & began attending Wednesday afternoon mindfulness meditations on campus to help ease the stress of college. Even as a *much older* college student in my 50’s at the time, the pressure & stress became enormous. It didn’t help that I was so far from home, which is near Seattle, WA. Thank you for your work and dedication. Looking forward to reading your new book and listening to all of your podcasts, including the 2nd part of the one with Tim Ryan!

    Gratefully,
    ~Anthea

This podcast was very helpful. It reminded me of the value in listening to my neighbors and finding common ground. I often feel like I have to make grand gestures to make a difference, but I could simply start by talking to the woman on our block who is often alone walking her dog. I’m so glad to know that Tim Ryan is doing this work in Congress!

May all beings be happy ♡
