I did the Sharon Salzberg meditation challenge a few years ago. It was nice – I was just starting to get into meditation. I had no idea how powerful it could be and I continue a meditation practice. It is definitely a practice because it is never perfect and ebbs and flows, much like my life.
I absolutely love walking meditation. Back in 2016 I had the experience of getting sober and doing a lot of walking to reflect and for exercise. Not only did I lose 130ish pounds that year I also became very connected to the world again. I was suddenly aware of everything that had only been a full background before. It was like I was seeing flowers and colors and experiencing smells for the first time. It was so beautiful.
I felt that again today. It is cold but refreshing. My movement was beautiful. The wind was a delight. I haven’t felt this in a while.
