Fortunately, I am able to sit with difficult and intense emotions.
I understand that these moments pass and positive energy will come again. So I get it, and when I am in a bad mood or if something distressing occurs, I am content to roll with it until the clouds clear.
I may not initially respond in a calm manner, I may dwell as a way to learn a lesson, but in a relatively short period of time, I get past it. However, my willingness to ‘accept’ these negative emotions leaves me open to overextend the limits of this capacity and hit burnout more frequently than I should. I end up experiencing more frequent ups and downs.
Through meditation, I am noticing when I am crossing this threshold, the moments when I am taking ‘too much in’. I can then act to keep a more even keel.
