Today’s #meditation practice focused on working with thoughts that come while you are meditating. Sometimes these thoughts are just distractions that come and go, other times they hijack our meditation and take us down a path where we focus on the thoughts and not the meditation. #SharonSalzberg brought up many tools to use to visualize the thoughts leaving your consciousness whether that is on a cloud, boat, etc. with the idea being that we are sitting on the bank watching the thoughts pass by versus grabbing on to them or being hijacked by them. What thoughts hijack you? I find that my to do list shows up about every other day during meditation. At times it hijacks me, but once I get a handle on the fact that it has I go back to the breath.
