The notion of exploring, examining, and investigating my emotions was helpful in today’s lesson. How does joy feel in me? I noticed a warmth in my belly that started to reach out to other body parts, filling me. How does anger feel? My jaw clenched, my shoulders tightened, I felt coiled. Examining various parts of emotions, including the physical manifestation and the fact that the emotions are ‘molten, changing’ and therefore not permanent was extremely helpful. Emotions pass. Physical feelings pass. They are temporary states. Especially if you do not cling to them.
