Garrison Institute • EXPERIENCING INSIGHT & LOVE • Weekend Retreat w Joseph Goldstein

Join Sharon and Joseph for a weekend retreat at Garrison Institute exploring Insight and Love. In times of uncertainty and change, we can draw on Buddhist teachings to help us move beyond constricting habitual patterns such as fear, denial, and despair. Awakening our inner capacities for compassion, wisdom, and joy, we learn to transform our worldview from one of isolation and confusion to one of connection and clarity. We can open to a power of faith and courage based on seeing things just as they are.

By engaging in traditional practices of mindfulness and lovingkindness, we develop insight through greater awareness of the full range of our experiences, and deepen compassion for ourselves and others. Suitable for both new and experienced meditators, the retreat will be held in social silence—that is, retreatants are asked to speak only in question and answer sessions or for assistance with retreat logistics. We practice social silence in order to allow each participant to have ample opportunity to attend to their own inner process while being in a supportive and caring environment. This retreat will be held in silence, with time allotted for conversation with the teachers.
